The amateur satellite service has many satellites in orbit, several of which are well over 10 years old and not operational. Additionally many of the more modern satellites cater only for data communications and/or SHF/Microwave band uplinks and downlinks.

The traditional voice communication satellites are listed below, these satellites can be accessed with analogue FM or SSB voice uplinks with downlinks of the same mode but on a different band, usually the uplinks and downlinks are available on 2M and 70CM and can be accessed  with commonly owned  transceivers.

The list is made up using the following format:

Satellite Name

Band Mode  -  Transmission Method  -  Status

Uplink frequency/range and mode  -  CTCSS

Downlink frequency/range and mode
